Uta No Prince Sama : Maji Love Legend Star Episode 12 Review

Hey everybody! Here we are with another review of Uta No Prince Sama : Maji Love Legend Star. Today, we are looking at episode 12, also known as “Three shining stars”. As always, if you haven’t watched the episode yet, I highly advise you do so. Especially since this episode covers some of the concert that we have been waiting for, I will be spoiling quite a bit of this episode. With that out of the way, let’s get started.

Summary:

We begin the episode with both STARISH and QUARTET NIGHT arriving at the location for the SSS deciding concert. The concert then begins, with the announcer stating that HEAVENS had dropped out. Suddenly, HEAVENS appears, stating that they would never want to disappoint their fans. Raging sees this and is about to take them away again, but Shining stops him and tells him to see what happens. The concert then begins, first with QUARTET NIGHT singing their song, G.O.D Star, and then HEAVENS singing their song, Immortal Inferno. The episode ends with STARISH being excited for their turn, and promising each other that they will do their best.

Review:

So this episode was just amazing!! This is due to both the animation and the music. Now, for those that remember the 3rd season, the CG animation was horrible, making the characters look unnatural, discolored, and distorted compared to the regular animation. However, in this season, the CG animation looks 10 times better, with the CG use kept very minimal and it flows much better with the natural animation. As well, the CG animation makes more sense here then in season 3, as the stage is much bigger and makes sense for 360 view camera angles. Besides the CG, the animation quality was really good in this episode, especially for all the music sections.

As for the songs, while both were good, QUARTET NIGHT song was much better, and really got you pumped by the end of it. HEAVENS song was alright, but didn’t seem to have the same energy and just seemed to be kept at the same level of tone the entire song. It might have been something wrong with how it was presented in the anime, but that’s just my opinion. Both of these songs do have me excited to see what STARISH has planned for their song.

In Conclusion:

So overall, if you have been anticipating some amazing songs and animation for the deciding concert, this episode will not disappoint. While I do wish they would just use the regular animation, the new CG is a welcome change from season 3’s animation. As well, I hope that they keep this level of animation up. With that said, please comment below on what you thought of the episode. What is your opinion on the CG animation? Did you prefer QUARTET NIGHT or HEAVENS song? Will STARISH be able to win? Well we will just have to wait and see. If you would like to watch this series, please go to Crunchyroll. Thank you for reading, remember that you can accomplish anything if you really want it, and I hope to see you guys again next time.
